About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our team at Carbon60. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for the management of the Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering departments, including 25 staff and contractors as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the management of the Mechanical Engineering & Civil Engineering departments
  • Mechanical maintenance department management
  • Mechanical project engineering management experience within an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Fluent in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Excellent personnel management skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Safety, Health & Environmental - To maintain and promote a safe operating culture within the department ensuring that in all its aspects of installation and maintenance it operates to the highest levels of safety and meets all legal and statutory requirements, company rules and procedures
  • Outside contacts typically include suppliers, contractors and agencies such as the HSE & insurance inspectors

Requirements:

  • A Mechanical Engineering HNC as a minimum, ideally a Mech Eng degree
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience within an industrial manufacturing environment in a Mechanical Engineering role, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role
  • The job requires a flexible attitude to deal with multiple complex jobs simultaneously to meet the required changes in operational priorities
  • Career development will be possible with both internal and external training available
