About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our team at Carbon60. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for the management of the Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering departments, including a team of 25 staff and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for the management of the Mechanical Engineering & Civil Engineering departments
  • Management of the Mechanical maintenance department
  • Experience in Mechanical project engineering management within an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Fluency in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Excellent personnel management skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Maintenance of a safe operating culture within the department, ensuring compliance with all legal and statutory requirements, company rules and procedures
  • Outside contacts with suppliers, contractors, and agencies such as the HSE and insurance inspectors
Requirements
  • A Mechanical Engineering HNC as a minimum, ideally a Mech Eng degree
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience within an industrial manufacturing environment in a Mechanical Engineering role, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role
  • A flexible attitude to deal with multiple complex jobs simultaneously to meet the required changes in operational priorities
