A prestigious independent law firm in the UK is seeking a Compliance Risk Attorney to become a vital part of their proactive team. The primary objective of this role is to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards, particularly in the realm of contract oversight.

This position is ideally suited for individuals with prior experience in a legal firm, particularly in a risk management capacity. Candidates with backgrounds in commercial contract analysis or negotiation will also be favorably considered. Familiarity with the SRA Handbook and pertinent legal or regulatory frameworks would be advantageous but is not a strict requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver thorough training on regulatory risk management
  • Keep abreast of relevant legislative and regulatory developments, ensuring that policies and procedures are updated accordingly
  • Address inquiries and issues related to regulatory risk and compliance
  • Assist in the continuous review of engagement agreements and business terms
  • Provide counsel on legal documentation, framework terms, and contracts
  • Support the onboarding process for firm suppliers, particularly in contract term evaluations and due diligence checks
  • Review client engagement agreements, codes of conduct, and KYC guidance
  • Advise on terms for new and existing secondments
  • Facilitate the timely preparation of client proposals and questionnaires
