Position Overview

An excellent opportunity has emerged for a dedicated individual to become a part of our Administrative Team within the Cellular Pathology department. We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic candidate to deliver essential support to our expanding teams and departments.

Candidates should possess a minimum of 4 GCSEs (grades 9-4) or equivalent qualifications, along with proficiency in MS Office, general office procedures, and audio transcription. A positive demeanor and a focused approach to tasks are crucial for this role.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform a variety of administrative support tasks within the team, ensuring the delivery of an efficient and comprehensive service. Responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate completion of tasks within set deadlines.
  • Management and prioritization of personal workload following initial training.
  • Execution of all secretarial functions, primarily focusing on audio transcription of patient reports.
  • Assistance with scanning, filing, and other administrative tasks as directed by the Administrative Office Lead.

The ability to organize and prioritize a diverse workload is essential, as are strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to communicate effectively with various staff members across all levels. The successful applicant will collaborate within a team environment and will gain invaluable experience in the daily operations of a busy Medical Secretarial office.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 4 x GCSEs Grade 9-4 in English and Mathematics
  • OCR / RSA word processing Level 1 or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • OCR / RSA word processing Level 2 / 3
  • NVQ in Business / Medical Administration Level 2 / 3

Experience

Essential

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Prior experience in general office or administrative roles
  • Experience in a customer service capacity

Desirable

  • Familiarity with PAS systems
  • Understanding of NHS operational practices, including relevant policies and procedures

Skills
