About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring individual to join our Community Team as a Clinical Support Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality clinical support to patients in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled clinical support to patients, including phlebotomy, under the supervision of a qualified nurse.
  • Assist and support other members of the team in delivering care to patients, promoting a 'can do' attitude and determination to develop and sustain a dynamic and responsive clinical and administrative support service.
  • Liaise with nursing and therapists to ensure effective patient care, highlighting any variations to expected outcomes from agreed treatment programmes.
  • Document patient interventions and findings in patient records, adhering to Trust Record Keeping Policy.
Requirements
  • GCSE Level C+ in English and Maths or Level 2 functional skills in English and Maths or willingness to work towards this.
  • Level 2 in health and social care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards this.
  • Care Certificate or willingness to undertake.
  • Awareness of accountability issues, e.g., confidentiality.
  • Awareness of the role of the Healthcare Support Worker.
  • Knowledge of the role of the health care assistant role in context, including phlebotomy.
  • Knowledge of situations and circumstances that can impact on patient safety and demonstrate understanding of how the healthcare support worker contributes to maintaining patient safety.
  • Good interpersonal skills (written and oral).
  • The ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff, both written and orally, and demonstrate a level of English language and grammar commensurate with writing in service user case notes.
  • Ability to remain calm when faced with a potentially difficult situation.
  • Able to meet the travel requirements of the post, e.g., access to vehicle and valid UK driving licence.
