About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Healthcare Support Worker to join our multidisciplinary teams in the provision of Immediate and Planned Care to patients in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a 'can do' attitude and determination to develop and sustain a dynamic and responsive clinical and administrative support service within a community hospital/community team setting.
  • Promote and enhance the health and wellbeing of patients.
  • Promote and improve the patient experience/journey.
  • Empower patients and promote patient shared/self-care where appropriate.
  • Observe the general behaviour, ability and response of patients/clients and record the information and report to qualified staff as and when required.

Requirements

  • GCSE Level C+ in English and Maths or Level 2 functional skills in English and Maths or willingness to work towards this.
  • Level 2 in health and social care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards this.
  • Care Certificate or willingness to work towards this.
  • Awareness of accountability issues, confidentiality.
  • Awareness of the role of the Healthcare Support Worker.
  • Able to meet the travel requirements of the role.
  • Knowledge of the role of the health care assistant role in context, including phlebotomy.
  • Experience of using IT in clinical practice.
  • Good time management.
  • Able to prioritise demands.
