We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Consultant to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Ophthalmology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality eye care services to our patients.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing expert ophthalmic care to patients, including cataract and oculoplastic surgery
- Leading a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement new services and treatments
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes and experiences
- Participating in education and training programs to enhance the skills of junior staff
- Contributing to the development of clinical guidelines and policies

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of interview date
- Full registration with the GMC
- FRCOPHTH or Equivalent CCST in Ophthalmology
- Minimum 8 years clinical experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire a multidisciplinary team
