We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist day school for boys with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) as well as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their learning, both in and out of the classroom, and work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality educational and therapeutic support.
Key Responsibilities- Support students in their learning, promoting academic and personal growth
- Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to manage challenging behaviors
- Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic development
- Assist in the assessment and tracking of student progress, providing feedback to parents and carers
- Experience working with children with SEMH, ASD, or special educational needs (SEN) is preferred but not essential
- A caring, patient, and empathetic attitude, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
