SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting. This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) and contribute to the development of a fulfilling learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support a child with an autism diagnosis in a Reception class, working closely with the class teacher to create a tailored learning plan.
- Develop a positive relationship with the child and respond appropriately to their needs, ensuring their integration and participation in class activities.
- Assist the whole class in engaging with learning activities, simplifying tasks to ensure accessibility for all students.
- Support the child during lunchtimes and provide a safe and nurturing environment.
- Recent experience working with children, preferably in a primary school setting.
- Ability to use initiative and proactively handle tasks, demonstrating relevant skills with confidence.
- Experience working with children with SEND is advantageous but not required.

To join Teaching Personnel and complete our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS registered with the Update Service. We offer full assistance for a new check, costing £38, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.
Upon a successful 20-week probation period, exceptional candidates often go onto contract with the school (terms and conditions apply). All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
