Are you passionate about working with children and making a positive impact on their lives? Do you have experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Hayward's Heath.

About the Role:
  • Support a child with an autism diagnosis in a Reception class, working closely with the class teacher to create a fulfilling learning environment.
  • Develop a positive relationship with the child and respond appropriately to their needs, ensuring their inclusion and participation in class activities.
  • Assist the whole class in integrating and participating in class activities, simplifying tasks to ensure accessibility.
  • Support the child during lunchtimes and provide a safe and nurturing environment.
Requirements:
  • Recent experience working with children, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Ability to use initiative and proactively handle tasks, demonstrating relevant skills with confidence.
  • Experience working with children with SEND is a plus, but not required.

To join Teaching Personnel and complete our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS registered with the Update Service. We offer full assistance for a new check, costing £38, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.

Upon a successful 20-week probation period, exceptional candidates often go onto contract with the school (terms and conditions apply). All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
