About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support students aged 6-11 years with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as other Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in class, assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities that cater to individual needs.
- Provide one-to-one support, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs to help students thrive.
- Implement positive behaviour management strategies, promoting emotional regulation and social skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to develop tailored support plans.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere, encouraging student participation and confidence.
- Be adaptable, supporting students across various age groups and developing approaches to meet their needs.
Candidate Qualities:
- Patient and resilient individuals can remain calm in challenging situations, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Energetic and active individuals can engage with students in activities both inside and outside the classroom.
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs or other SEN in a school or care setting is preferable.
- Ability to work well as part of a team, taking direction from teachers and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
