Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a child with an autism diagnosis in a Reception class at a primary school in Hayward's Heath. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to create a fulfilling learning environment for the child and assist with integrating and participating in class activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a child with an autism diagnosis in a Reception class
  • Work with the class teacher to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop a positive relationship with the child and respond appropriately to their needs
  • Assist the whole class in integrating and participating in class activities
  • Simplify tasks to ensure accessibility
  • Support the child during lunchtimes
Candidate Requirements
  • Recent experience working with children
  • Experience in a primary school setting is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Experience with children with SEND is a plus but not required
  • Ability to use initiative and proactively handle tasks

To join Teaching Personnel and complete our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS registered with the Update Service. We offer full assistance for a new check, costing £38, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.

Upon a successful 20-week probation period, exceptional candidates often go onto contract with the school (terms and conditions apply).
