About the Role

The Welding Engineer is a key member of the CRC Evans team, responsible for assisting the Welding Engineers on the welding discipline. This includes assisting with the specification and requirements, qualifications of welding procedures, welding equipment and consumable selection, as well as ensuring appropriate documentation is in place.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fulfilling project welding activities in a cost-efficient, effective, and safe manner, with a focus on meeting project deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Monitoring and collating data from R&D materials and welding projects, providing budget-estimates and firm offers for tenders, projects, or internal clients with respect to welding activities and equipment.
  • Reviewing technical specifications for tender/contract purposes, determining cost, quality, and cycle time impact.
  • Calculating welding cycle times for pipeline installation rate estimates for tender and planning purposes.
  • Performing QC and Inspection functions during WPQT, WQ, and Welding Development, as well as monitoring production welding on site.
  • Occasional travel to worksites may be required.

  • Ensuring a safe working environment by following all Health, Safety, and Environmental rules, policies, procedures, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Reporting any hazards, injuries, or ill health that present a serious and imminent risk, and informing the line manager about any shortcomings in health and safety arrangements.
Requirements
  • Job Specific Education Required:
  • • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in welding/materials engineering or equivalent level through experience.
  • Work Experience Required:
  • • Experience of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Skills & Knowledge Required:
  • • Must be willing to undertake offshore survival training.
  • The requirement to travel 20% of the time.
