Job Description

Crcevans is seeking a highly skilled Coating Engineer to join our team. As a Coating Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical ownership of the coating scope of work, including document creation, contractual supplier document register ownership, and internal and external client interface for testing scopes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Ownership: Ensure that required documentation for field joint coating activities are finalized to client satisfaction, on time, and to monitor the execution.
  • Knowledge Management: Collect, implement, and extend know-how and experience for the purpose of improving customer service.
  • Specialist Support: Provide timely specialist field joint coating support for all phases of a project technical liaison and communications with subcontractor/vendor.
  • Training and Development: Instruct onshore personnel and subcontractors in accordance with agreed plans, for example during PQT.
  • Client Interaction: Client interaction on technical and quality issues. Technical representation of PIH at Client's Project Meetings.
  • Collaboration: Liaising with other departments and site providing technical/quality support.
  • Scope Review: Review of Client and 3rd party scope of work including suppliers and specifications.
  • Support to Sales Team: Support to sales team for specification reviews, lab testing scopes, etc.
  • PQT Support: Technical support for the planning and execution of Procedure Qualification Trials (PQT's) in conjunction with the relevant service delivery departments, with responsibility for documentation technical/quality items and client liaison.
  • Lab Testing: Tracking execution of 3rd party lab testing.
Requirements
  • Education: Science based academic qualifications to A-Level or B Tech standard.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nautical / Civil / Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge: Good practical and theoretical knowledge of pipeline installation techniques.
  • Knowledge: Good practical knowledge of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Systems.
Experience
  • Experience: Good understanding of ISO standards related to FJC.
  • Experience: Good understanding of the related inspections and testing methods.
  • Experience: A good knowledge of FJC and application techniques.
  • Experience: Experience with working under contractors as a potential sub-contractor mindset with initiative.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Experience of Engineering, Quality, Health & Safety and Environment process and systems.
  • Experience: Experience in an engineering/materials-based background.
  • Experience: Change management experience with regards to process and procedure.
  • Experience: Experience working with standard operating procedural documentation, ensuring it is in place, being followed and reviewed/updated accordingly.

  • Communication: A strong communicator when discussing and planning technical aspects.
  • Commercial Awareness: Commercially aware.
  • Presentation and Client-Facing: Good presentation and client-facing skills.
  • IT Skills: Excellent all-round IT skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving acumen.
  • Technical Report Writing: Good technical report writing skills with the ability to import visuals, photos, and diagrams into reports.
  • Coating Materials: Good technical understanding of various coating materials.
