Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical aspects of the coating project scope, which includes the creation of documentation, management of supplier document registers to meet critical submission deadlines, and coordination with both internal and external clients regarding testing requirements and challenges.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation for field joint coating operations is completed to the satisfaction of clients, adhering to timelines while monitoring execution.
  • Gather, apply, and enhance expertise and experience to elevate customer service standards.
  • Deliver prompt specialist support for field joint coating throughout all project phases, maintaining effective communication with subcontractors and vendors to meet technical requirements for pipeline installation in a cost-effective and safe manner.
  • Guide onshore teams and subcontractors according to established plans, particularly during Procedure Qualification Trials (PQT).
  • Engage with clients on technical and quality matters, representing the company at client project meetings.
  • Collaborate with various departments and site teams to provide technical and quality assistance.
  • Review client and third-party scopes of work, including supplier specifications.
  • Assist the sales team with specification evaluations and laboratory testing requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance for the planning and execution of Procedure Qualification Trials (PQT), ensuring documentation of technical and quality items and maintaining client communication.
  • Monitor the execution of third-party laboratory testing.

Educational Qualifications:

  • NACE Level 1 certification is essential; NACE Level 2 is preferred.
  • Science-based academic qualifications at A-Level or B Tech standard.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nautical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong practical and theoretical understanding of pipeline installation methods.
  • Solid practical knowledge of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Systems.

Required Experience:

  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO standards related to field joint coating.
  • Familiarity with relevant inspection and testing methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of field joint coating and application techniques.
  • Experience working with contractors, demonstrating a proactive subcontractor mindset.
  • Background in Engineering, Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental processes and systems.
  • Experience in an engineering or materials-focused environment.
  • Experience in change management concerning processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in standard operating procedural documentation, ensuring compliance and regular updates.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong communication skills for discussing and planning technical details.
  • Exceptional time management abilities.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Effective presentation and client interaction skills.
  • Proficient in IT applications.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Competent technical report writing skills, with the ability to incorporate visuals, photographs, and diagrams.
  • Good technical knowledge of various coating materials.
