Key Responsibilities of a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
- Assume professional accountability for the clinical evaluation of prescriptions to guarantee the precision, legality, safety, and efficacy of prescribed medications in accordance with pharmacy standard operating procedures.
- Identify potential patient risks during the prescription evaluation process and address relevant concerns before dispensing.
- Collaborate with medical staff to clarify any questions that arise during the evaluation process.
- Offer guidance on the safe prescribing and administration of medications.
- Engage in inventory assessments, including controlled substances, ensuring that medications are stored securely.
