Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Clinical Trials team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of investigational medicinal products (IMPs) in compliance with regulatory standards and protocols.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Organizing daily clinical trials workload to ensure the requirements of the service are met
  • Preparing and dispensing aseptic products for clinical trials, including chemotherapy and advanced medicinal products
  • Building and maintaining up-to-date Clinical Trials worksheets on our in-house compounding system
  • Working closely with the specialist pharmacist teams in clinical trials, advanced therapies, haematology/oncology, and our technical services team

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registered pharmacy technician in the UK by GPhC or registered Science Manufacturing Technician (Apprenticeship Standard- Level 3 Diploma in the Principles of Aseptic Pharmaceuticals processing) in the UK by the Science Council
  • Numerate and literate GCSE in Maths and English A* to C or equivalent or IELTS test score 7 as required by GPhC if overseas candidate
  • Experience of accurate dispensing of medicines in a hospital or community pharmacy or aseptics
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure
