We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Maintenance team in Pencoed on a permanent basis.

Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pencoed has been a hub for product manufacturing for over 40 years. With a team of over 600 employees, we manufacture a wide range of clinical laboratory and immunohematology products used globally. Our Pencoed team is dedicated to helping save and improve lives through diagnostics.

Your New Role:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will provide critical engineering support to our manufacturing value streams and equipment assets at the Pencoed site. You will work closely with our cross-functional Operations and Engineering teams to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximize equipment availability and performance, ensuring alignment with OEE targets and reacting to breakdowns with excellent fault-finding techniques.
  • Maintain equipment compliance via the equipment management database in SAP, ensuring all reported fields are followed precisely and updated with concise and detailed information.
  • Establish the root cause of equipment issues using the RCI method and capture and update all equipment interventions and recoveries in SAP.
  • Develop machine performance metrics linked to site goals and analyze data to select appropriate tools to ensure equipment is operating at optimal levels.
  • Plan, organize, and undertake programs of work to improve equipment performance and uptime, communicating this activity to operational stakeholders.
  • Manage service contractors during site activities, ensuring all routine service and calibration checks are performed for specified equipment.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of routine maintenance procedures and service contract activities, updating and implementing FMECA, RCM, and TPM within areas.
  • Provide reasonable overtime support to resolve operational and non-operational equipment issues, establishing and maintaining an effective engineering 'On-Call' Rota.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (Diagnostics, Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, or Consumer).
  • Proven track record of engineering maintenance in a highly regulated manufacturing environment as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician or Electrical Bias Maintenance Technician.
  • Minimum of an ONC (HNC/HND) in an Engineering discipline is required.
  • Experience working and communicating effectively with cross-functional Operations and Engineering teams.
  • Ability to work a 24/7 shift pattern (12-hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekend work).
