The OpportunityWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Maintenance team in Pencoed on a permanent basis. This role will work on a 24/7 shift pattern, providing engineering support to manufacturing value streams and equipment assets at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
Your New RoleAs a Maintenance Technician at QuidelOrtho, you will be responsible for:
- Maximizing process equipment availability, performance, and quality, and reacting to breakdowns with excellent fault-finding techniques.
- Maintaining equipment compliance via the equipment management database in SAP.
- Ensuring all equipment reported fields are followed precisely and updated with concise and detailed information.
- Establishing the root cause of equipment issues and capturing and updating all equipment interventions and recoveries to SAP.
- Developing machine performance metrics linked to site goals and analyzing data to select appropriate tools to ensure equipment is operating at a level that enables the value stream to achieve its MPS goals.
- Planning, organizing, and undertaking programs of work to improve equipment performance and uptime and communicating this activity to operational stakeholders.
- Planning, organizing, and undertaking service, calibration, and repair of defined equipment for use at the site.
- Managing service contractors during their site activities and ensuring all routine service and calibration checks are performed for specified equipment.
- Ensuring continuous improvement of routine maintenance procedures and service contract activities.
- Providing reasonable overtime support to effectively resolve both operational and non-operational equipment issues.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- A proven track record of engineering maintenance in a highly regulated manufacturing environment as either a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician or Electrical Bias Maintenance Technician.
- A minimum of an ONC (HNC/HND) in an engineering discipline.
- Experience working and communicating effectively with cross-functional operations and engineering teams.
- The ability to work a 24/7 shift pattern, including days, nights, and weekend work.
