Maintenance Technician Role:
As we expand, we are looking for a Maintenance Technician to become part of our Engineering Maintenance team. This position involves working on a 24/7 shift schedule.
About Ortho Clinical Diagnostics:
Our facility has been a cornerstone of manufacturing in South Wales for over four decades. The state-of-the-art plant in Pencoed employs a dedicated team of over 600 professionals who contribute to the production and distribution of clinical laboratory and immunohematology products worldwide.
Our Pencoed operations focus on producing a diverse range of immunohematology products essential for transfusion medicine, alongside a comprehensive array of immunoassay products addressing various health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure optimal performance and availability of process equipment, addressing breakdowns with effective troubleshooting skills.
- Maintain compliance of equipment through the management database.
- Accurately document all equipment-related information.
- Investigate root causes of issues using established methodologies and update records accordingly.
- Develop and analyze machine performance metrics to align with site objectives.
- Organize and execute maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability and uptime.
- Oversee service, calibration, and repair of designated equipment.
- Manage external service contractors during their operations on-site.
- Continuously improve maintenance procedures and implement best practices.
- Provide support for urgent equipment issues as needed.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record in Engineering Maintenance, preferably as a Multi-Skilled or Electrical Bias Technician.
- A minimum of an ONC in an Engineering discipline is required; HNC/HND is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to work a flexible 24/7 shift pattern.
