About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haematology Specialist to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Specialist in Haematology, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our laboratory haematology service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in laboratory haematology, working closely with our team of consultant haematologists and laboratory staff.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives, ensuring that our laboratory haematology service is of the highest standard.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care, including liaison with primary and secondary care.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors and registrars, providing guidance and support to ensure their development and success.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs, sharing your expertise and knowledge with the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Membership/Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists.
  • Full and Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), or eligibility for registration within six months of interview.
  • UK-trained candidates must hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
  • Non-UK-trained candidates must show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
  • Specialist experience in haematology, with a strong track record of service development and delivery.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
