Job Summary:
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant General/Laboratory Haematologist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory haematology department, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical and laboratory support to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical and laboratory support to our patients and staff, with a focus on routine haematology, morphology, and liaison haematology services.
- Work as a duty consultant in the haematology laboratory, responsible for reporting and authorizing blood films and bone marrow aspirates.
- Contribute to laboratory aspects of registrar training in laboratory haematology and provide routine laboratory support for training doctors on a rotational basis.
- Liaise with clinical teams to ensure best transfusion practice across the trust.
- Assist multi-disciplinary teams in the care of in-patients at the John Radcliffe hospital.
Requirements:
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Completion of specialist training in haematology.
- Experience in laboratory haematology and transfusion medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
