Role Summary:
We are in search of a Lead Cost Estimator with a strong background in industrial and commercial refurbishments to work from our Hertfordshire office.
The successful candidate will excel in competitive tendering, accurately pricing materials and labor, and will be adept in client interactions to engage with clients and subcontractors.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee the complete tender process for multiple projects concurrently.
Prepare comprehensive priced schedules for submission, ensuring precision and competitiveness.
Conduct site assessments 1-2 days weekly post-tender awards.
Estimate costs for materials, labor, and other project expenditures.
Engage with clients and subcontractors to collect and clarify project specifications.
Collaborate with contracts managers for tender approvals.
Input subcontractor pricing into scope of works documentation.
Stay informed about regional competitors to maintain competitive tendering.
Handle a significant volume of tenders with diverse values, ensuring timely submissions.
Qualifications and Experience:
Demonstrated experience as an Estimator in industrial refurbishment projects, with a solid foundation in office fit-outs, heritage works, groundworks, and external projects.
Capability to manage multiple tenders and projects simultaneously.
Strong client-facing abilities and the skill to foster and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
Strong analytical and numerical aptitude.
Proficiency in relevant estimating software and tools.
Willingness to travel to various sites and work from the office.
