Key Responsibilities

The Cardiothoracic Advisory Group Chair will play a pivotal role in advising NHS Blood and Transplant on all aspects of Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, ensuring equity of access and best outcomes for all recipients.

As a key member of the OTDT Clinical Team, the Chair will work closely with National and International leaders in the field of Donation and Transplantation to deliver the strategy Organ Donation and Transplantation 2030: Meeting the Need.

Leadership and Collaboration

The Chair will provide leadership and professional input in solid Organ Transplantation to NHS Blood and Transplant and the wider Donation and Transplantation community.

They will work alongside the Medic team to ensure the successful delivery of the strategy and will be an integral part of the OTDT Clinical Team.

Key Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cardiothoracic Transplantation and a proven track record of leadership and collaboration.

They will be able to provide expert advice and guidance to NHS Blood and Transplant and will be able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

The Chair will be responsible for ensuring that the Advisory Group is effective in its role and that it is providing the best possible advice to NHS Blood and Transplant.
