Chief Medical Advisor Role Overview

The Chief Medical Advisor is a key position at Heart Research UK, responsible for providing strategic guidance on clinical governance and medical information to the public. As an integral part of our leadership team, you will act as an organisational spokesperson and ambassador, promoting the charity's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on clinical governance and medical information to the public
  • Act as an organisational spokesperson and ambassador for Heart Research UK
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and the public
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in cardiothoracic surgery and cardiology

Requirements:

  • Qualified medical doctor with specialism in cardiothoracic surgery or cardiology
  • Recent experience working in the UK healthcare system
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with people at all levels, including senior leaders
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and coordinate multiple tasks
