Job Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking an experienced nurse leader to fill the role of Matron in our cardiothoracic surgery department. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and guidance to the cardiothoracic surgery team. This will include:

  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Leading and managing the cardiothoracic surgery team to achieve excellent clinical outcomes
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless patient care
  • Providing education and training to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have:

  • Previous experience as a nurse leader in a cardiothoracic surgery department
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
  • Knowledge of cardiothoracic surgery and its associated policies and procedures
