Job Summary:

The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the service charge accounting function, including charge raising and receipting, bank reconciliations, database maintenance, SC budgets, year-end closures, and audits. This role requires a high level of expertise in financial operations and a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare and review quarterly service charge accounts, set up and manage tenant apportionments, and review current systems to enhance service charge excel and property system templates.
  • Accounting and Reporting: Bill and charge tenants balancing charges or credits, review and assist with new budgets commentaries, and review and assist with end-of-year commentaries.
  • Financial Operations: Maintain accurate property and lease information on the property management database, assist the team with internal audit planning and review, and liaise with external auditors to answer any queries.
  • Treasury and Cash Management: Oversee the treasury function, including new account opening and rent deposit management, and complete quarterly VAT/CIS returns to HMRC.
