Position Overview

We are seeking to appoint HCPC registered, qualified Mammography Specialists to enhance our staff bank within the Breast Imaging division at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. Our team comprises dedicated healthcare professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional breast services to our patients.

As integral members of our multidisciplinary team, Mammography Specialists collaborate with a diverse group of Consultants, Clinical Specialists, Advanced Practitioners, and Assistant Practitioners. We provide numerous opportunities for skill development and involvement in various aspects of screening, assessment, family history evaluations, and breast cancer follow-up.

We prioritize the health and wellbeing of our staff, offering a range of health initiatives and promoting flexible working arrangements. We welcome applications from Mammography Specialists interested in working on an ad hoc basis and are supportive of those returning to practice.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves working across our newly acquired mobile screening units, which visit several scenic locations, as well as our satellite screening site and assessment clinics. You will have the opportunity to operate our state-of-the-art Hologic mammography units, contributing to approximately 20,000 examinations annually. Job Responsibilities

The successful candidates will work flexibly within a multidisciplinary team, delivering a comprehensive breast imaging service while ensuring high standards of care for patients. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing consistent, high-quality Radiography in both screening and symptomatic settings to assist clinicians in accurate diagnosis.
  • Participating in the Quality Assurance Programme and taking responsibility for personal development, audits, and maintaining a professional profile.
  • Contributing to the department's efforts towards QSI accreditation and promoting clinical governance through evidence-based practice.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Post Graduate Award in Mammography
  • Current HCPC Registration
  • BSc in Radiography or equivalent
  • Full UK Drivers' License

Desirable:

  • Experience with NHS Breast Screening Programme
  • Knowledge of IR(ME)R 2017 regulations and IRR
  • Commitment to teamwork and service provision
  • Excellent understanding of the symptomatic breast service
