Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Unipart Logistics in the West Midlands. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of first-line managers to achieve business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Lead a team of first-line managers to ensure they are effective leaders and act in line with policy, employment law regulations, and company standards.
- Ensure health and safety standards are achieved on an ongoing basis and actively promote individual responsibility for health and safety.
- Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers, service providers, customers, and colleagues.
- Maintain all aspects of stock integrity and ensure ownership of activities and resolutions.
- Ensure operating procedures and processes meet quality requirements and support performance improvement objectives.
- Manage and plan for operational requirements against forecast and demand.
- Liaise with customer representatives to resolve problems and maintain partnership relationships.
Requirements:
- Relevant operational leadership experience within Logistics and Supply Chain in a warehousing and distribution environment.
- Experience of managing and leading teams.
- Self-motivated with an analytical mind and an eye for detail.
- Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-focused.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mind-set.
- Computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office/equivalent, SAP, and WMS.
- An understanding of continuous improvement tools and techniques and process improvement experience.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certified.
