About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of our data infrastructure by designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge data solutions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical aspects of data engineering projects, ensuring they align with business requirements, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with solution architects to guarantee the integrity and consistency of end-to-end technology solutions.
  • Champion a robust change management process, ensuring all developments adhere to established guidelines.
  • Work in tandem with security architecture teams to ensure that all solutions meet stringent security requirements.
  • Contribute to project planning and resource allocation, providing valuable input for business case development.
  • Embrace an agile methodology framework, fostering a collaborative and iterative development process.
  • Oversee the entire solution development lifecycle, including implementation and engagement with stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, conducting market research to identify innovative solutions and potential vendors.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, leading resolution efforts as needed.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvement within existing data services.

Your Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant field is preferred, or equivalent qualifications and demonstrable experience at this level.
  • Proficiency in API design and RESTful micro-services architecture.
  • Expertise in JVM-based languages such as Java and frameworks like Spring Boot.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, with a focus on AWS. Knowledge of other platforms (Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Linux, AWS CLI scripting, and automation tools.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD automation principles and practices.
  • Experience with NoSQL database technologies such as MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of CDC (Change Data Capture) and streaming technologies like Qlik Replicate and Kafka.
  • Basic understanding of data architecture principles, solutioning, ETL processes, and containerization.
  • Familiarity with database structures, including relational and dimensional modeling.
  • Experience in designing and developing streaming services and APIs.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to guide and mentor team members.
