Economic History Research Fellowship at King's College

King's College Cambridge is seeking applications for the Mervyn King Research Fellowship, open to scholars engaged in diverse fields of Economic History, including the History of Economics.
This Fellowship invites candidates to embark on a significant research project over a duration of four years. The scope is intentionally broad to foster innovative ideas, encouraging applicants to draw from various academic disciplines and perspectives.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in a relevant field and should be in the process of completing or have recently completed an exceptional doctoral thesis. While it is not mandatory for the doctoral research to directly relate to Economic History, applicants must articulate how their proposed future work connects with their previous research endeavors.
Successful candidates will actively engage with the vibrant community at King's College, which includes Research Fellows and College Research Associates, as well as Fellows from various disciplines such as Economics, History, and Politics. This collaborative environment is designed to challenge and inspire novel approaches to research.
The Research Fellowship is a postdoctoral role available for up to four years. Graduates from any university are encouraged to apply. Candidates typically should have completed their PhD or an equivalent qualification, but must not have more than two years of postdoctoral experience or work outside academia.
Research Fellows enjoy full membership in the Governing Body, with privileges that include meals, financial support for research-related expenses, and potential office and accommodation within College properties. The current stipend for a Research Fellow is competitive, with additional allowances available based on circumstances.
In addition to research, Fellows are expected to reside in or near Cambridge and participate in College life. While these positions are primarily research-focused, opportunities for limited teaching or tutorial duties may arise, providing valuable experience for academic career development.
