Role Overview:

As a Learning and Development Specialist, you will deliver exceptional teaching, coaching, mentoring, and guidance that aligns with the goals and aspirations of our students and their employers. You will oversee specific components of a degree program, motivating and inspiring your students to successfully complete their studies, apply their newly acquired skills in the workplace, and reach their professional objectives.

Ideal candidates will possess experience in delivering digital courses at the higher education level. Furthermore, you should have a background in a technical capacity within a data and/or technology role across various environments. Your motivation will stem from the opportunity to create a meaningful and lasting impact on our students, their employers, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of students, providing mentorship and coaching to help them develop effective management skills and modern business fundamentals.
  • Translate theoretical course content into practical applications through bi-weekly development sessions.
  • Exemplify the knowledge, skills, and behaviors outlined in the respective apprenticeship standard.
  • Assist your students in completing all academic assignments by established deadlines.
  • Deliver our premier course content through a combination of coaching, workshops, and group sessions.
  • Ensure that each student is actively engaged in their qualification journey, recognizes its value, and is making progress toward their career advancement.
  • Your performance will be evaluated based on the number of students successfully completing their degree and the satisfaction levels of each learner and their line manager with the CCL course.
  • Collaborate with fellow Learning and Development Specialists and the broader academic team to innovate, support, and challenge one another in delivering high-quality training.

Performance Indicators:

  • Support a cohort of approximately 40 management students through their qualifications.
  • Ensure over 85% of students achieve their degree.
  • Meet quarterly milestones for each learner to complete the respective course module.
  • Assist students in completing assignments within the designated timeframes and to the highest possible standards.
  • Schedule and conduct one-on-one meetings with each student twice a month.
  • Facilitate engaging workshops and tutorials that motivate and educate students.
  • Engage with students' line managers quarterly to review progress.

Candidate Profile:

  • We seek exceptional individuals who aspire to make a difference and are committed to achieving personal success. You should understand the complexities and challenges of being a digital professional and be eager to share your knowledge and skills through a comprehensive degree-level course.
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards work, colleagues, clients, and management.
  • An inquisitive nature, capable of problem-solving and focused on achieving desired outcomes.
  • Integrity and standards that align with CCL's values, where people and success are paramount.
  • A passion for ongoing professional and personal development, with a genuine desire to see others grow and succeed.
  • A commitment to making a meaningful impact.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in digital and technology fields.
  • Ability to understand individual learning styles and tailor solutions to meet each student's unique needs.
  • Organized and capable of maintaining clear records to manage student, employer, and academic standards in line with regulatory expectations.
  • Dedicated to ensuring every student achieves their qualification while keeping the primary goal in focus and adapting as necessary.
  • A natural facilitator of people, processes, and situations.
  • A good listener, able to offer practical advice and support for everyday managerial challenges.
  • Understanding of the mentoring process and the ability to guide students through a comprehensive technical training program.
  • A solid grasp of higher education requirements, including the significance of quality assurance and academic rigor.
  • Proficient in IT, with a willingness to learn new systems and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Desirable: A Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PG Cert HE) or equivalent (e.g., Advance HE Fellowship).
