Job Title: MCA/DOLS Specialist

About the Role:

  • Deliver a high-quality MCA/DOLS service, providing professional advice, support, and education to the multi-professional team, patients, and carers.
  • Provide professional leadership and guidance to ensure compliance with MCA and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, with a view to working in line with Liberty Protection Safeguards if introduced.
  • Work in conjunction with the Head of Safeguarding Families and the Named Nurses to ensure standards are monitored and the golden thread of MCA is consistently applied through observation in practice.
  • Record, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of the MCA/DoLS training strategy, ensuring all staff has access to the level of education and training required.
  • Support the development and implementation of MCA/DoLS practice across the Trust, ensuring effective multi-agency liaison and training on MCA/DoLS.
  • Deputise for the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Adults, alongside providing safeguarding adults advice and support for staff.
