About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team at Oak Tree Ward, a 17-bedded Older Adult Mental Health assessment mixed gender ward. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and healthcare assistants to provide high-quality patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with service users to ensure daily activities of life are supported and maintained.
  • Administer medication safely and effectively.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop effective management plans to ensure the safety of service users.
  • Develop and implement holistic care plans with service users and their families.
  • Communicate effectively with service users, families, and colleagues to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members to ensure they meet the highest standards of care.
  • Contribute to the development of the ward's culture, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.

Person Specification

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in mental health services, either as a Registered Nurse or in a supporting role.
  • Desirable: experience working in a similar clinical setting and evidence of continuous professional development.
