Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct safe assessments and documentation of clients' chemical and hazardous waste on-site.
  • Package and label waste in accordance with environmental and transportation regulations (comprehensive training will be provided).
  • Collect waste from client locations and ensure safe transport following road transport and hazardous waste regulations as well as company protocols.
  • Safely operate collection vehicles to and from client sites.
  • Ensure all waste transfer documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Reference safety information and material safety data sheets to ensure compliance.
  • Utilize Veolia's IT systems for documentation generation, waste assessment, label printing, and, when necessary, quote generation.
  • Perform technical assessments of waste (full training will be provided).
  • Handle all waste in accordance with company procedures and health and safety regulations.
  • Occasionally manage compromised containers by pumping, decanting, or re-packaging.
  • Assist with Chemist duties at the Transfer Station as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with dangerous goods transportation requirements (full training will be provided).
  • Provide technical guidance to clients and sample waste when necessary.
  • Adhere to all client site regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • When experienced, offer basic mentoring to new team members.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of routine supplies.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

  • A degree or HND in a science-related field, preferably Chemistry.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in hazardous waste management.
  • Understanding of COSHH and health and safety regulations is preferred.
  • A valid driving license is required, and candidates should be comfortable driving a 3.5t van.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients are essential.
