We are seeking a qualified teacher with experience in teaching learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) to join our team at HSDC.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver and enhance the provision in our Vocational and Foundation Learning (VFL) and Academic Learning Support (ALS) departments.
- Teach and tutor learners with SEND and SEMH, utilizing functional skills English or maths as necessary.
- Contribute to departmental duties, including enrolment, open evenings, parents' evenings, school liaison activities, and staff sickness cover.
- Proven track record of teaching learners with SEND and SEMH.
- Experience in delivering functional skills English or maths is beneficial.
- Good knowledge of quality procedures, such as internal and external verification, is essential.
HSDC offers a range of support and development opportunities for teaching staff, including:
- A Level 5 or equivalent Teaching Qualification, such as Certificate in Education or PGCE.
- Support to achieve this qualification, including a financial contribution and a reduction in teaching time.
- Access to a 10-week introduction to teaching course, the Level 3 Award in Education & Training, which is fully funded by HSDC.
