Position Overview:

The Compliance and Audit Specialist will play a crucial role within the Business Integrity and Compliance Team, which oversees Fraud control, GDPR, and ISO compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to internal governance protocols and accreditation standards.
  • Promote a culture of information security awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development teams to review and approve training materials relevant to compliance.
  • Manage the Information Security Management System (ISMS) to maintain its effectiveness and relevance.
  • Oversee the maintenance of key compliance documentation, including the Corrective Actions Log, Risk Registers, and ISO Objectives.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to meet ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Work closely with operational teams, particularly in IT, HR, and Operations, to foster continuous improvement.
  • Revise the internal auditing schedule to enhance governance processes based on feedback and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate external audits, including preparation and communication with relevant teams.
  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings, identifying best practices and areas needing improvement.
  • Analyze root causes of non-conformances and devise improvement plans.
  • Assist in implementing corrective actions to mitigate future security incidents.
  • Participate in DSMC meetings, providing updates on ISMS progress and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the organization in adopting new relevant certifications as necessary.
  • Stay updated on legislation and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in internal auditing.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 standards and their implementation.
  • Strong understanding of information security principles and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training initiatives.
  • Proficient in IT systems, including MS Office, with the ability to adapt to various CRM systems.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with a results-driven approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Certification in information security management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Rail Industry is advantageous.
