Essential Qualifications:
- Registered healthcare professional with valid NMC or HCPC registration.
- Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification.
- Qualification in mentorship.
- Certification as a Surgical First Assistant.
- GCSEs in Maths and English at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2.
- Competent in computer usage, including various software applications.
- Experience in customer service, particularly in challenging situations.
- Prior experience in an acute healthcare setting.
- Experience as a first assistant in orthopaedic, gynaecological, and general surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and high-quality care to patients during their perioperative phase.
- Support and assist in the management and organization of care within the Operating Department.
- Contribute to the enhancement of care quality.
- Foster the development of skills and knowledge in oneself and others.
- Implement and advocate for evidence-based practices within the scope of practice.
- Adhere to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain awareness of the Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring safety measures for all stakeholders.
- Meet established objectives while demonstrating professional behaviors consistently.
- Prepare, check, and organize necessary surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies for various operative procedures.
