Deputy Surgical Ward Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our team as a Deputy Surgical Ward Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and support to the ward nursing team, ensuring high standards of patient care and contributing to the development of a patient-centered approach to care.
The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical presence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the care needs of patients and their carers, and will work closely with the ward manager to ensure the smooth operation of the ward.
The successful candidate will have a detailed knowledge of the Mental Health Act and will be able to advise other staff as required. They will also have the ability to implement policies and procedures, lead their implementation where appropriate, and negotiate and influence.

Key Responsibilities- To participate as an effective member of the MDT and be responsible for the development and implementation of a patient-centered approach to care.
- To determine nursing priorities and plan patient care accordingly, including full risk assessment.
- To ensure that measurable high standards of nursing care are maintained and participate in the setting and review of standards and nursing audits.
- RMN (NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse) ENB 998 or teaching equivalent.
- Experience of working within a specialist area of Older Adults mental health nursing.
- Detailed knowledge of the Mental Health Act.
