We are in search of a proactive and motivated Lead Technical Pharmacy Officer to enhance our pharmacy team at Birmingham Women's Hospital. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the effective distribution of medications and assist with various administrative responsibilities that support the Clinical Pharmacy team.

The successful candidate will primarily operate within the Clinical Pharmacy Team at Birmingham Women's Hospital but may also be called upon to assist with services at other sites.

Strong communication and IT proficiency are essential to guarantee that all tasks are executed with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will encompass:

  • Overseeing daily inventory replenishment for wards and departments.
  • Maintaining close communication with external stock suppliers.
  • Actively engaging in stock management initiatives.
  • Following up on outstanding orders and addressing any MCS-related issues.
  • Responding to urgent and priority requests.
  • Informing the senior technician of any anticipated stock delays.
  • Assisting the team with administrative tasks.
  • Supporting the senior technician in daily operations.
  • Contributing to drug alert management.
  • Assisting with audits related to the safe and secure storage of medications.

Qualifications Required

Applicants must possess an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services, with current and up-to-date practice.
