Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual eager to apply their podiatric expertise in delivering patient-centered care with a focus on positive outcomes for our diverse patient population.

The Foot Health department at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals Trust offers a comprehensive array of specialized podiatric services to our community through an extensive network of both community and acute care clinics.

Our department encompasses a variety of clinical specialties, including Musculoskeletal (MSK) Podiatry, along with subspecialties such as rheumatology, pediatrics, and neurology. As part of our departmental rotations, you will have the opportunity to gain experience across these specializations, supported by the Trust's preceptorship program to enhance your professional development.

As an integrated care trust, SWBH is committed to providing a wide range of specialized podiatric clinics and pathways to cater to our varied caseload, offering numerous opportunities for career advancement. We prioritize development through quality-focused, protected monthly training sessions, regular one-on-one supervision, department-wide training initiatives, and a structured support and mentoring program, alongside personal development reviews and tailored training plans.

Key Responsibilities

This role entails delivering independent, high-quality podiatric assessments and treatments for a diverse range of patients who may face systemic chronic or acute medical and social challenges at designated clinics within a pan Trust environment. You will utilize recognized techniques, clinical reasoning, and standards pertinent to your qualifications.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, enabling them to foster meaningful collaborative relationships with patients, colleagues, and peers. You will be adept at planning and managing your workload flexibly while effectively measuring and demonstrating the impact of your interventions.

Given the pan Trust nature of this position, the successful candidate must be able to fulfill the transportation requirements associated with the role.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Relevant educational qualifications at GCSE and 'A' level or equivalent.
  • Diploma or Degree in Podiatry.

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience working within a podiatry team and/or a multidisciplinary team in the NHS.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with the operational aspects of Foot Health services in the local area.
