Job Title: Commercial and Pricing Analyst

Job Summary:

Ambition is seeking a highly skilled Commercial and Pricing Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our pricing team, you will be responsible for managing pricing and analytics functions within the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pricing and Analytics: Manage pricing and analytics functions within the EMEA region, including the development of pricing models and recommendations for panel pitches and individual matters.
  • Strategic Planning: Plan and implement robust, strategic, consistent, and creative programmes that engage the firm's audiences, create buy-in, and support change, with the goal of improving firm profitability.
  • Client Value: Provide strategic and tactical pricing advice and services to help develop the pricing and scope of services of alternative fee arrangements, including fee modifiers in the forms of penalties, reductions, bonuses, and premiums.
  • Project Management: Work with the Legal Project Management team to design and implement methodologies to ensure AFA matters meet their fixed or budgeted cost and to monitor the efficiency of the work done on those projects.
  • Business Development: Assess current firm pricing and matter management capabilities and write proposals for projects that can improve firm efficiency and output.
  • Client Engagement: Attend client meetings to discuss Pricing and Value Add offerings and present to partners and other fee-earners throughout the EMEA region to raise awareness of the function and capabilities.
  • Training and Development: Assist in delivering partner training programmes when required for all Client Value and Pricing initiatives.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Review client requests for regular Management Information and work closely with BD, Finance, and other Business Services functions to ensure that they provide information in a seamless and professional fashion.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent working experience.
  • Skills: Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, ability to influence key senior decision makers, ability to create and execute complex and commercially valid fee arrangements, excellent IT skills with a particular focus on Excel, excellent level of attention to detail, strong level of oral and written communication skills, ability to manage multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously, highly motivated with ability to work independently.
  • Experience: Previous experience of working in a law firm is highly advantageous, alternatively professional services, knowledge of financial and revenue billing systems a plus.
