About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Worker I to join our Mental Health Substance Use (MHSU) Homelessness team in a permanent part-time (0.60 FTE) capacity.

As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. Your lived experience and expertise will enable you to provide guidance, support, and resources to help clients achieve their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional and social support to clients, promoting a non-judgmental and empathetic environment.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify and achieve their recovery goals, utilizing a harm reduction approach.
  • Connect clients with community resources, services, and healthcare providers to support their recovery journey.
  • Work closely with the MHSU team to ensure seamless service delivery and client support.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in mental health and substance use recovery.
