Position Overview

The Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) is dedicated to ensuring that road vehicles comply with essential safety and environmental standards as mandated by UK and international regulations. About the Role

We are seeking a meticulous and organized individual to join our Finance team as an Accounts Receivable Administrator. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations and supporting our mission within the automotive sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor client accounts closely and manage debt collection for both domestic and international customers, documenting interactions in our system and reporting to the Credit Control Manager.
  • Download and reconcile banking statements, ensuring accurate allocation of receipts and posting of journals to customer accounts.
  • Process payments via credit and debit cards, ensuring timely posting and allocation of receipts.
  • Engage in credit control activities, including regular communication with customers through calls, emails, and letters, and initiate legal action when necessary.
  • Collaborate with various departments within VCA and liaise with business units both in the UK and abroad.
  • Conduct credit assessments and facilitate the opening of new accounts in accordance with established authority limits.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding account details and provide necessary documentation such as invoices and credit notes.
  • Prepare monthly sales ledger reports and verify account balances prior to month-end closing.
  • Generate pro-forma invoices and distribute them to customers as required.
  • Assume responsibilities of the Credit Control Manager during their absence.

The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and accuracy are paramount, along with the capability to build robust relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Information

It is expected that a minimum of 60% of your working hours will be spent at your primary workplace. While we are open to part-time applications, the successful candidate must be available to work at least four days a week, including Fridays.
