Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a clear vision and direction for the mathematics subject area, enhancing the overall learning experience for all students.
  • Develop a cohesive subject team that delivers exceptional teaching and learning, collectively raising standards of engagement, aspiration, and achievement.
  • Ensure comprehensive development, communication, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of academy policies.
  • Set high expectations for teaching and learning standards, exemplifying outstanding practices.

  • Implement consistent teaching and learning methodologies that cater to the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Lead curriculum workshops to enhance subject knowledge and pedagogical approaches.

  • Facilitate the creation of knowledge organizers and strategically map retrieval practices throughout the curriculum.

  • Manage effective assessment, recording, and reporting of student progress.
  • Analyze and report on performance data to evaluate standards of attainment.
  • Contribute to regular self-evaluation processes for both the school and department.

  • Develop, implement, and regularly update the subject development plan.
