Job Summary

Red Sky Personnel is seeking an experienced Utilities Technical Lead to join our client, a leading civil engineering and infrastructure specialist, in their search to secure a skilled professional to play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of utility systems.

About the Role

The Utilities Technical Lead will be responsible for a blend of fieldwork and office-based tasks, focusing on the design, analysis, and oversight of projects that maintain and improve/enhance/alter utility infrastructure. This will involve collaborating with various stakeholders, including government bodies, contractors, and the public, to ensure that utility services meet current contract requirements and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Oversee Utility Infrastructure Projects
    • Develop and implement designs for utilities supply systems to meet regulatory standards and stakeholder needs.
    • Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis to determine the performance of existing utility systems.
  • Maintenance and Reliability
    • Understand maintenance schedules applied to utility equipment and infrastructure to ensure works align with reliability of service and compliance with safety standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Coordinate with local stakeholders to meet environmental regulations and ensure infrastructure projects align with public policy and community plans.
  • Reporting and Communication
    • Prepare detailed project reports and presentations for stakeholders, including cost estimates, phasing, design, project timelines, and the impact of utility projects on the local community and environment.
  • Technology Evaluation
    • Evaluate new technologies and methods for utility system improvement, including renewable energy integration, water reclamation, and smart grid applications.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in utilities engineering and project delivery, with experience in design, analysis, and oversight of utility infrastructure projects. You will also need to have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.
