Job Purpose:

We are seeking a compassionate and understanding Personal Assistant to support a 34-year-old mother who is navigating the challenges of living with M.E. and other health conditions. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to help her maintain a nurturing environment for her child while managing daily household tasks.

Given the rural setting, flexibility in working hours is essential, and we are open to discussing a schedule that accommodates both the mother’s needs and the candidate’s availability.

This position can be structured as either employed or self-employed, with the remuneration adjusted accordingly.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with household management, including cleaning, laundry, and organization.
  • Preparing and serving nutritious meals to promote healthy eating.
  • Supporting the mother in parenting her toddler.
  • Running occasional errands, such as picking up prescriptions and grocery shopping.
  • Accompanying the family on outings when possible.
  • Providing personal care assistance as needed.

It is important to note that female Personal Assistants are required for personal care tasks.

Key Requirements:

  • Friendly, caring, and patient demeanor.
  • Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy character.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Competence in preparing healthy meals safely.
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance.
  • Experience working with young children.
  • Willingness to undertake training as necessary.

Compensation and Conditions:

  • Hourly rate of £15.
  • Reimbursement for agreed-upon expenses incurred during the role.
  • Access to free Care Skills training for all employed staff.
  • Working hours and days are negotiable; flexibility is available for the right candidate.

Additional Requirements:

  • Completion of annual training for manual handling and food safety if applicable.
  • Satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, funded by the employer.
  • References from two referees, including one from the most recent employer.
  • Successful completion of a three-month probationary period.
