Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Stock Condition Building Surveyor to join our team at Essential Employment. As a key member of our property maintenance team, you will be responsible for surveying our housing stock and corporate assets, evaluating and diagnosing what work is required, and managing the work undertaken and a varied range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough surveys of our residential and commercial properties to identify building defects and assess the condition of assets.
  • Evaluate and diagnose what work is required to maintain and improve our properties, ensuring that the right repair is carried out at the right time.
  • Assess the quality of work undertaken and identify solutions to resolve any issues, preparing specifications for repairs or planned maintenance schemes as necessary.
  • Manage the procurement and management of contractors providing a repairs and maintenance service, ensuring that the service is provided in accordance with the contract.
  • Oversee delegated project budgets to ensure that expenditure is accountable and demonstrates value for money.
  • Liaise with customers and stakeholders, including residents, leaseholders, local councillors, building users, and other staff, regarding the repairs and maintenance service.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in building surveying and property maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and health and safety protocols.
