An exciting opportunity has emerged within the Network Management and Enforcement division for a permanent, full-time Traffic Enforcement Specialist within the Council's Parking Operations team. This role is essential to the Parking and Traffic Regulation service area, and we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual capable of managing a diverse and challenging workload.

The primary responsibilities of the post holder will include overseeing the Council's various traffic enforcement initiatives, such as Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE), Bus Lane Camera Enforcement, and the enforcement of the new Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in the city.

Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in managing the contract for the Council's Decriminalised Parking Services, which encompasses a range of customer-facing services, including on-street parking enforcement, vehicle removals, maintenance of signs and lines, parking permits, and payment services. The role also involves overseeing the integrated ICT systems that support all parking, bus lane, and LEZ enforcement operations.

While the successful candidate will be expected to support all aforementioned services, there will be a specific emphasis on LEZ operations within the city. This includes managing all aspects of LEZ operations and associated contracts, as well as project managing the installation of new enforcement technologies and cameras. The post holder will also be responsible for customer communications and preparing briefing notes and reports on LEZ matters as required by elected officials. Furthermore, the post holder will handle the statutory reporting of LEZ data and finances, liaising with and benchmarking against other Scottish Councils operating LEZs, and conducting analyses of LEZ operations to identify trends and recommend enhancements.

The ideal candidate should possess experience in leading teams and/or projects. They must demonstrate high levels of accuracy and the ability to balance competing priorities to meet demanding deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a proven track record in managing and resolving challenging customer interactions.
