Position: Traffic Management Officer

Salary Range: £36,000 - £42,000
Working Hours: 36 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has emerged within the Network Management and Enforcement division for a permanent, full-time Traffic Management Officer within the Council's Parking Operations team. This role is pivotal within the Parking and Traffic Regulation service area, and we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual capable of managing a diverse and challenging workload.

The successful candidate will primarily oversee the Council's various traffic enforcement initiatives, which include Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE), Bus Lane Camera Enforcement, and the enforcement of the new Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in the city.

Additionally, the post holder will assist in managing the contract for the Council's Decriminalised Parking Services, which encompasses a range of customer-facing services such as on-street parking enforcement, vehicle removals, maintenance of signage and road markings, parking permits, and payment services. Responsibilities also include managing the integrated ICT systems that support all parking, bus lane, and LEZ enforcement operations.

While the successful candidate will support all the aforementioned services, this role will specifically focus on LEZ operations within the city. Responsibilities will include overseeing LEZ management and associated contracts, project managing the installation of new enforcement technologies, and ensuring effective customer communication. The post holder will also prepare briefing notes and reports on LEZ matters for elected officials, as well as manage the statutory reporting of LEZ data and finances. Collaboration with other Scottish Councils operating LEZs to benchmark and analyze operations for identifying trends and recommending enhancements will also be essential.

The ideal candidate should possess experience in leading teams and/or projects. They must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and the ability to balance competing priorities to meet demanding deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a proven track record in managing and resolving challenging customer interactions.
